SET S.A.
The company was created about fourty years ago by a group of young engineers, specialised in transport and urban planning, as a spin-off of academic and research activities in the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. Born in the period when the first democratic institutions were born in Spain, it provided the new authorities, notably regional and local, with valuable advice in the fields of mobility and transport since the early stages of their mandates. The Catalan government, the metropolitan and municipal authorities were their first clients, quickly followed by others at the national, regional and local level elsewhere in Spain, particularly in Andalusia, and private operators (transport services, parking operators, toll motorway companies, etc.).
SET, SA presently counts on a team of engineers, urban planners, economists, geographers and environmentalists with a broad experience and a high degree of specialisation. It has developed its own working methods and modelling tools, particularly well adapted to the Spanish context. Being totally independent of economic or financial groups, it can provide services that are totally adapted to the needs of the clients, based on professional knowledge and free of any vested interests. SET, SA, with its relatively small multidisciplinary team, is able to systematically offer an integrated view on any issue in the field of transport. This integrated approach is considered essential when dealing with most studies in the sector, being mobility plans, feasibility studies or analyses of operational aspects of both infrastructure and services.
In its long history, as it is one of the oldest independent transport consulting firms in Spain, many professionals who have started their career in SET, SA or have collaborated with the company, have taken managerial jobs in public administrations, major public and private companies or have created new consulting companies. This network of professionals with links with the company is a rather unique asset in Spain.
SET, SA has an ISO 9001:2008 quality certification for studies and engineering projects in the fields of mobility, traffic, transport, environment, urban planning and traffic safety.
